Warranty
The contractor's written promise to fix their own work if it fails within a stated time. Separate from the manufacturer's warranty on the product.
A workmanship warranty says: if what I did fails because of how I did it, I come back and fix it, for this long. One year on labor is the common floor; some trades go to five on roofing or tile. The manufacturer covers the product itself on its own terms.
Two lines on the bid, each with a length. A warranty is something customers pay more for and almost nothing to offer when the work is good.
