Roofing proposals homeowners trust enough to sign.
A roof is the biggest check most homeowners write all year. Give them a proposal with photos of the damage, the scope spelled out, and a deposit they can pay by card.
What your customer sees from the notes above.
Only what you typed, cleaned up and laid out. Nothing gets added that you didn't say.
Common headaches for roofers, and what this does about them
Competing against the big outfits with the glossy binders
Your proposal goes out with your company name, license, terms, and warranty, a signature box, and a deposit button. It looks like it came from a company with an office.
Chasing a deposit for a week after the customer said yes
The deposit is paid by card when they sign, so the money is down before you buy anything or put them on the schedule. Taking checks or Venmo instead works too.
Writing a full tear-off scope by hand for every bid
Your terms, warranty, and fine print are saved once and go on every bid. Save the jobs you do often and start the next one from there.
What to spell out on a roofer bid
Useful whatever you write your bids in. These are the lines that keep a job from turning into an argument.
- Squares, and how many layers come off
- Underlayment type, flashing, and ventilation
- A per-sheet price for bad decking found after tear-off
- Cleanup, magnet sweep, and dumpster
On an insurance job, put the claim number on the proposal and say how supplements are handled. Note that the schedule depends on weather.

What a roofer ends up paying for
On a big platform, a small roofing company usually ends up paying for the platform, then a quoting add-on, a photo app, and a review app. Each one has its own monthly bill and its own login.
To get a roof bid signed and the deposit collected, you need one tool. Photos of the damage, packages the homeowner picks from, follow-ups, and review requests are all part of the $29.
We do not do aerial measurements or crew scheduling. Keep whatever you use for those.
Before you sign up.
Can the customer pay the deposit when they sign?
Yes. Set a percent or a fixed amount, and the Accept button becomes "Accept and pay deposit." The money goes to your bank through Stripe.
Does it work for insurance jobs?
You write the scope and price as usual. Add the claim number in the notes so it shows on the proposal.
Is the signature legally binding?
Yes. The customer types their full name and clicks Accept, and we record the name, date, time, and the exact proposal they agreed to. That meets the U.S. E-SIGN Act, the same law behind DocuSign.
Does my customer need an app?
No. They tap the link in your text or email, the proposal opens in their phone's browser, they read it and sign.
Does it change what I wrote?
It fixes spelling and lays your notes out cleanly. It does not add scope, exclusions, or promises you didn't make.
