Net 30
Payment terms that give the customer 30 days after the invoice date to pay. Common in commercial work, rare and risky in residential.
Net 30 means the invoice is due in full 30 days after it is issued. Businesses and general contractors expect it; a homeowner does not need it and a one-truck contractor cannot afford to carry it. Net 15 and net 10 are the same idea with shorter clocks.
If you take net terms, put a late fee on the bid and invoice the day the job finishes, not the end of the month. Thirty days starts from the invoice, so a late invoice is money sitting still.
