Invoice
The request for payment sent after work is done, showing the total, what has been paid, and what is due.
An invoice is not an estimate. The estimate came first and set the price; the invoice comes last and asks for the money. A good one shows the job, the total, the deposit already paid, the balance due, and how to pay it, and it goes out the day the work is finished.
Residential customers often pay from the invoice link on their phone the same day. Commercial customers need an invoice number, a date, and the terms to route it through their payables.
