Proposal expiration
The date after which the price on a bid is no longer good, usually 30 days from the date it was sent.
Material prices move and schedules fill. An expiration date lets the contractor send a firm price without holding it forever. Thirty days is common; fourteen in a fast market or for a special-order job.
It also helps the sale. A customer with a date decides; a customer without one thinks about it until the number is stale anyway.
