E-signature
Accepting a proposal by typing a name or signing on a screen instead of on paper. Legally binding in the US for this kind of agreement.
An electronic signature on a proposal works the same as a pen: the customer types their name or signs with a finger, the system records who, when, and exactly what was accepted. Federal and state law has treated this as a valid signature for ordinary business agreements since 2000.
For a contractor it means the bid gets accepted from the customer's phone the night they get it, with a record, instead of a "sounds good" by text that proves nothing later.
