Tree trimming estimate example
Trimming is the job where the customer and the climber picture two different trees. Put the cuts in words.
"trim 2 live oaks front yard, raise canopy to 10 ft, clear 6 ft off roof, remove deadwood 2 in and up, no topping, haul brush, 3 man crew half day"
Example figures for a typical tree trimming job. Not a quote. Every line on the estimate came from the notes above. Nothing was added.
What to spell out on a tree trimming bid
- The cuts by name: canopy raise to a height, roof clearance by feet, deadwood by size.
- No topping, so nobody asks for it on the day.
- Which trees, and that the neighbor's tree is not touched.
- Brush hauled or chipped and left.
Say where the crane or the bucket truck will sit and that ruts in the yard are possible. It is the thing customers call about after.
The parts of this estimate
- Scope of work. 6 lines, one thing each, in the order the work happens. What is not included is on the list too.
- One price. $850. Not a formula, not a range. The scope explains the number.
- Timeline. Half a day. Including dry time, cure time, or permit time, so the customer plans around it.
- Payment terms. Due on completion. Nothing down. The customer pays when the work is done.
- Warranty. Cleanup made right.
- A way to accept. The customer types their name and signs with a finger on their phone. Legally binding under the E-SIGN Act, and recorded with the date, time, and the exact estimate they agreed to.
Questions tree service contractors ask about this bid
Should I list the crew size?
You can. It helps the customer understand the price. The scope is what they sign for.
Any permit?
Some cities protect certain trees. If yours does, say who checks and that a permit is extra.
Is this a real quote?
No. The numbers are example figures for a typical job so you can see how a complete estimate reads. Your price is yours.
Can my customer sign this on their phone?
Yes. An estimate sent from BidWriter Pro opens as a link. The customer reads it, types their name, signs with a finger, and pays the deposit by card. You get an alert when they open it and when they sign.
