FieldPulse alternatives for small contractors

FieldPulse is a seat-based field-service platform with a long add-on list: phone system, pricebook, payments, financing, fleet tracking, custom forms. It is sold by custom quote, which tells you who it is for.

FieldPulse first, then four alternatives, each with the price from its own pricing page as of October 17, 2026, what it is built for, and who it fits. BidWriter Pro is ours.

FieldPulse

Price: No plans or prices on the page. "FieldPulse is seat-based and pricing is built around what your team needs," with a Get a Custom Quote button. Add-ons such as the Engage phone system are priced per line and license, also by quote. Read from fieldpulse.com/pricing on October 17, 2026.

Setup: A sales call, a quote, then onboarding.

Pick it if
  • You run a team and want seats, fleet tracking and a phone system in one contract.
  • You have someone in the office to set it up and run it.
  • You expect to negotiate a price.
Not the one if
  • You want a price on the page and a trial that starts now.
  • You write the bid yourself and want it signed and the deposit paid from a text.
  • You want one flat $29 with nothing to add on.

Housecall Pro

  • You already invoice through software and want everything under one login.
Not the one if
  • You want the proposal written from your own words, which it does not do.
  • You want sending, follow-ups, e-signature, deposit, and balance collection with about five minutes of setup for card payments, which it does not do.
  • Twenty-nine dollars, flat, is the whole bill, which it does not do.
