Contractor+ alternatives for small contractors

Contractor+ is an all-in-one app for small contractors with a free tier: leads, estimates, invoices, scheduling, and team features on paid plans. The free plan is real but small, and the paid plan is priced per seat.

Contractor+ first, then four alternatives, each with the price from its own pricing page as of October 17, 2026, what it is built for, and who it fits. BidWriter Pro is ours.

Contractor+

Price: Freedom is $0 and caps you at 5 estimates or invoices a month and 250 clients. Pro Team is $58 a month with the first 2 users included and $20 a month per additional user. Max is $500 a month for unlimited users. Read from contractorplus.app/pricing on October 17, 2026.

Setup: Minutes for the free plan. Longer once a team and a price list are involved.

Pick it if
  • You send fewer than five estimates a month and free is the right price.
  • You want leads, scheduling and a team in one app and will pay per seat.
  • You want a client portal and a price list built in.
Not the one if
  • You send more than five estimates a month and do not want a $58 jump.
  • You want the bid written from your own words, with automatic follow-ups until it is signed.
  • You want one flat $29 with nothing to add on.

Housecall Pro

Price: Their pricing page lists the Basic plan for one user at $59 a month billed annually, and says that saves $20 a month over paying monthly. • You already invoice through software and want everything under one login.
Not the one if
  • You want the proposal written from your own words, which it does not do.
  • You want sending, follow-ups, e-signature, deposit, and balance collection with about five minutes of setup for card payments, which it does not do.
  • Twenty-nine dollars, flat, is the whole bill, which it does not do.
