Inspection
The city's check of permitted work at set stages, like rough-in and final, before the job can continue or close.
Permitted work gets inspected, often twice: at rough-in before the walls close, and at final. The inspector's schedule drives the job's schedule, which is why "after inspection" shows up on timelines and payment terms.
Tell the customer when inspections happen and that the power or the water may be off for them. A customer who knows why the hole in the yard is still open is a calm customer.
