Rodent exclusion estimate example
Exclusion is construction more than chemistry. List the openings and say what the warranty covers and what it does not.
"rodent exclusion, seal all entry points found in inspection approx 14, steel wool and sealant, 2 vent screens, garage door sweep, set and check traps in attic 3 visits, 1 yr warranty on sealed points"
Example figures for a typical rodent exclusion job. Not a quote. Every line on the estimate came from the notes above. Nothing was added.
What to spell out on a rodent exclusion bid
- Entry point count and the materials used to seal them.
- What is not sealed: a gap under the siding, a roofline the customer declined.
- Trap visits by count and that removal of carcasses is included.
- That the warranty covers sealed points, not new ones chewed elsewhere.
On a termite job, the warranty terms are the product. Say what is covered, for how long, and whether it is repair or re-treatment.
The parts of this estimate
- Scope of work. 5 lines, one thing each, in the order the work happens. What is not included is on the list too.
- One price. $890. Not a formula, not a range. The scope explains the number.
- Timeline. 1 day for the sealing, then 2 follow-up visits. Including dry time, cure time, or permit time, so the customer plans around it.
- Payment terms. 50% upfront, 50% on completion. The $445 deposit is paid by card when they sign.
- Warranty. 1 year on sealed entry points.
- A way to accept. The customer types their name and signs with a finger on their phone. Legally binding under the E-SIGN Act, and recorded with the date, time, and the exact estimate they agreed to.
Questions pest control operators ask about this bid
Should I include attic cleanup?
As an option with its own price. Insulation and droppings cleanup is a separate job with separate gear.
Deposit?
Half covers the materials and the follow-up visits.
Is this a real quote?
No. The numbers are example figures for a typical job so you can see how a complete estimate reads. Your price is yours.
Can my customer sign this on their phone?
Yes. An estimate sent from BidWriter Pro opens as a link. The customer reads it, types their name, signs with a finger, and pays the deposit by card. You get an alert when they open it and when they sign.
