Patio slider replacement estimate example
The door that leaks if the pan is skipped. Put the pan on the bid so the customer knows what they paid for.
"replace 6 ft patio slider w vinyl 2 panel low-e, full frame, new flashing and sill pan, interior trim and exterior trim replaced painted white, screen incl, haul old, 3-5 wk lead"
Example figures for a typical patio slider replacement job. Not a quote. Every line on the estimate came from the notes above. Nothing was added.
What to spell out on a patio slider replacement bid
- Full frame, and why: the flashing and sill pan are new.
- Trim inside and out, replaced and painted, or reused.
- Operating panel on the left or the right, viewed from outside.
- Lead time from the deposit.
Lead times on custom windows are long and the deposit is what starts the clock. Say that on the bid so nobody is surprised at week six.
The parts of this estimate
- Scope of work. 6 lines, one thing each, in the order the work happens. What is not included is on the list too.
- One price. $3,600. Not a formula, not a range. The scope explains the number.
- Timeline. 1 day on site, after the unit arrives. Including dry time, cure time, or permit time, so the customer plans around it.
- Payment terms. 50% upfront, 50% on completion. The $1,800 deposit is paid by card when they sign.
- Warranty. 2 years on workmanship, manufacturer warranty on the unit.
- A way to accept. The customer types their name and signs with a finger on their phone. Legally binding under the E-SIGN Act, and recorded with the date, time, and the exact estimate they agreed to.
