Deck and fence wash estimate example
Wood is where pressure washing does damage. Say low pressure, say no stain, and say who moves the furniture.
"wash and brighten 16x20 wood deck low pressure, 150 lf cedar fence both sides, no staining, furniture moved by customer, plants rinsed"
Example figures for a typical deck and fence wash job. Not a quote. Every line on the estimate came from the notes above. Nothing was added.
What to spell out on a deck and fence wash bid
- Low pressure or soft wash on wood, in those words.
- Whether stain or seal is included. It usually is not, and the customer usually assumes it is.
- Both sides of the fence or one, and whether the neighbor's side is reachable.
- Who moves furniture and planters.
Stains that do not come out, like rust and oil, are the complaint. Say on the bid what you expect to lift and what you do not.
The parts of this estimate
- Scope of work. 5 lines, one thing each, in the order the work happens. What is not included is on the list too.
- One price. $440. Not a formula, not a range. The scope explains the number.
- Timeline. Half a day. Including dry time, cure time, or permit time, so the customer plans around it.
- Payment terms. Due on completion. Nothing down. The customer pays when the work is done.
- Warranty. Missed spots touched up within 7 days.
- A way to accept. The customer types their name and signs with a finger on their phone. Legally binding under the E-SIGN Act, and recorded with the date, time, and the exact estimate they agreed to.
Questions pressure washing contractors ask about this bid
Should I stain it?
If you do, it is a second visit after the wood dries, and a separate price. Put it as an option.
Any deposit?
No. Due on completion.
Is this a real quote?
No. The numbers are example figures for a typical job so you can see how a complete estimate reads. Your price is yours.
Can my customer sign this on their phone?
Yes. An estimate sent from BidWriter Pro opens as a link. The customer reads it, types their name, signs with a finger, and pays the deposit by card. You get an alert when they open it and when they sign.
