Ceiling fan install estimate example
The box is the whole job. Say which rooms have a fan-rated box and what happens where they do not.
"install 4 ceiling fans customer supplies, 3 at existing fan boxes, 1 bedroom has light box only needs fan rated brace box, existing switches, 10 ft ceilings, haul off old fixtures"
Example figures for a typical ceiling fan install job. Not a quote. Every line on the estimate came from the notes above. Nothing was added.
What to spell out on a ceiling fan install bid
- Fan count and who supplies them.
- Which boxes are fan-rated and which need a brace box, with that price.
- Ceiling height. Over 10 feet is a different price.
- Switches: existing, or new fan controls.
Say plainly that licensed trade work is not included where your state requires a license for it.
The parts of this estimate
- Scope of work. 5 lines, one thing each, in the order the work happens. What is not included is on the list too.
- One price. $520. Not a formula, not a range. The scope explains the number.
- Timeline. Half a day. Including dry time, cure time, or permit time, so the customer plans around it.
- Payment terms. Due on completion. Nothing down. The customer pays when the work is done.
- Warranty. 90 days on workmanship.
- A way to accept. The customer types their name and signs with a finger on their phone. Legally binding under the E-SIGN Act, and recorded with the date, time, and the exact estimate they agreed to.
Questions handymen and remodelers ask about this bid
What if the wiring is not what I expected?
Put a line that the price assumes working power at each box and that anything beyond that is quoted first.
Remote controls?
If the fan comes with one, say you set it up. If they want a wall control, price it as an add-on.
Is this a real quote?
No. The numbers are example figures for a typical job so you can see how a complete estimate reads. Your price is yours.
Can my customer sign this on their phone?
Yes. An estimate sent from BidWriter Pro opens as a link. The customer reads it, types their name, signs with a finger, and pays the deposit by card. You get an alert when they open it and when they sign.
