Gutter guard install estimate example
Guards on bad gutters are a callback. The bid should say the gutters are cleaned, sealed, and checked before anything goes on top.
"install micro mesh guards on 180 lf existing gutters, clean and reseal gutters first, tighten hangers, check pitch, remove and reinstall if needed to fix pitch $8/lf"
Example figures for a typical gutter guard install job. Not a quote. Every line on the estimate came from the notes above. Nothing was added.
What to spell out on a gutter guard install bid
- Guard type by name. Mesh, screen, and reverse-curve are different products and prices.
- That cleaning and resealing comes first and is in the price.
- What happens if the gutters are pitched wrong or coming off the house.
- What the guards do not do: ice, pine needles, roof debris at the valleys.
Rotten fascia found behind the old gutter is the common surprise. Put a per-foot price on the bid so you do not have to stop and renegotiate.
The parts of this estimate
- Scope of work. 4 lines, one thing each, in the order the work happens. What is not included is on the list too.
- One price. $1,980. Not a formula, not a range. The scope explains the number.
- Timeline. 1 day. Including dry time, cure time, or permit time, so the customer plans around it.
- Payment terms. Due on completion. Nothing down. The customer pays when the work is done.
- Warranty. 5 years on workmanship, manufacturer warranty on guards.
- A way to accept. The customer types their name and signs with a finger on their phone. Legally binding under the E-SIGN Act, and recorded with the date, time, and the exact estimate they agreed to.
Questions gutter installers ask about this bid
Should I guarantee no cleaning ever?
No. Say what the guards keep out and that valleys and roof debris may still need a look. A guarantee you cannot keep is a refund.
What if the gutters are shot?
Put the re-hang rate on this bid and the replacement price on a second package. The customer picks before you climb.
Is this a real quote?
No. The numbers are example figures for a typical job so you can see how a complete estimate reads. Your price is yours.
Can my customer sign this on their phone?
Yes. An estimate sent from BidWriter Pro opens as a link. The customer reads it, types their name, signs with a finger, and pays the deposit by card. You get an alert when they open it and when they sign.
