Opener install estimate example
Short bid, and the model matters. Put the drive type and the features on it so the customer is not comparing it to a bare chain drive on a shelf.
"install belt drive opener 3/4 hp w battery backup and wifi, remove old chain drive, new safety sensors, wall button, 2 remotes, keypad, program car"
Example figures for a typical opener install job. Not a quote. Every line on the estimate came from the notes above. Nothing was added.
What to spell out on a opener install bid
- Opener model and drive type, horsepower, battery backup, wifi.
- That the door itself is balanced first, and a door that will not balance needs springs before an opener.
- Remotes, keypad, and car programming, so nothing is a surprise add-on.
- Old opener hauled.
Springs are the thing that fails next on a reused system. Say whether new springs are in the price so a failure in month three is not a warranty argument.
The parts of this estimate
- Scope of work. 5 lines, one thing each, in the order the work happens. What is not included is on the list too.
- One price. $620. Not a formula, not a range. The scope explains the number.
- Timeline. About 2 hours. Including dry time, cure time, or permit time, so the customer plans around it.
- Payment terms. Due on completion. Nothing down. The customer pays when the work is done.
- Warranty. 1 year on labor, manufacturer warranty on opener.
- A way to accept. The customer types their name and signs with a finger on their phone. Legally binding under the E-SIGN Act, and recorded with the date, time, and the exact estimate they agreed to.
Questions garage door installers ask about this bid
What if the door is out of balance?
Say it on the bid: the door is checked first, and springs are quoted separately if needed. An opener will not fix a heavy door.
Any deposit?
No. Opener is on the truck or picked up the same morning.
Is this a real quote?
No. The numbers are example figures for a typical job so you can see how a complete estimate reads. Your price is yours.
Can my customer sign this on their phone?
Yes. An estimate sent from BidWriter Pro opens as a link. The customer reads it, types their name, signs with a finger, and pays the deposit by card. You get an alert when they open it and when they sign.
